
Co-creator Ryan Murphy told US magazine Entertainment Weekly that he approached the singer about a part on the Fox series about a high school show choir club.
He said he would love the I Dreamed A Dream star to appear as a dinner lady for a festive special.
He said: "Susan, I have two words for you: 'Lunch. Lady.'
"I think Kurt (Chris Colfer) would just die to give her a Christmas makeover.
"I don't even know if she's interested but it's been pitched."
Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga and Julia Roberts are among the other big names currently in talks to appear in the all-singing, all-dancing series.
The first series of the show, which won a Golden Globe award earlier this year, has already had its fair share of guest appearances from famous faces.
Grease star Olivia Newton-John sang a new version of her hit single Physical with cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, played by Jane Lynch.
Broadway singer Kristin Chenowith has a recurring cameo as a former glee club member, while hip-hop singer Eve took on the role of a rival choir leader.
