Blasphemy!!!

What's wrong with this picture?

Not much in my opinion but FIFA weren't happy with it as 36 Dutch fans were escorted from Soccer City and accused of ambush marketing.

The women wore 'Dutchy' dresses which appeared recently in the Netherlands as part of a gift pack distributed with Bavaria beer.

Dutch tourist Barbara Kastein told Johannesburg's The Star newspaper of how the group of women she was with were badgered by authorities before being taken from the ground.

"We were sitting near the front making a lot of noise and the cameras kept focusing on us."

"In the second half about 40 stewards surrounded us and forced us to leave the stadium.

"The police came and kept on asking the same questions over and over, asking if we worked for Bavaria.

"They said it was ambush-marketing and was against the law in South Africa.

"They said we would be arrested and be in jail for six months.

"Girls were crying it was bad.

The women were released after a few hours.

FIFA said no arrests were made despite, "several young South African women being used in an ambush-marketing campaign".

A spokeman from Bavaria beer said he had heard of the 'Dutchy' dress incident which, incidently, bare no brand markings.

"It's a nice dress. Very fashionable. People should have the right to wear it."

Flags bearing logos were confiscated at the Ghana versus Serbia clash on Sunday as part of the same anti-ambush marketing drive.

Edit (from Reuters):

Four years ago at the Germany World Cup scores of Dutch men watched the Netherlands play in a Stuttgart stadium in their underwear after stewards ordered them to remove orange lederhosen bearing the name of Bavaria.
