Ozzy Osbourne is to have his genetic code mapped by scientists in an attempt to discover how he has lived so long despite his decades of excess.

He will be among the first humans to have the test, which costs around £27,000 to perform.

"Analysing individuals with extreme medical histories has great potential scientific value," said scientist Nathan Pearson of US company Knome.

The legendary Brummie rocker says he has "chased people with shotguns and driven Range Rovers over viaducts and come out without a scratch."
