by Since Friday, this site has been down. There was an error with the database server. Apparently it was out of space.
I sent a support request to the company that hosts this web site, checked back the next day and it seems the ticket got "lost". So i copied and pasted the text of my original support ticket into a new support ticket and sent it again.
In my anger, I then went onto twitter and ranted about this web hosting company. Strangely enough, another twitter user (from another possibly related hosting company) somehow saw this tweet.
This is where it gets interesting.
That user phoned my host for me, spent 25 mins on the phone to one of the technicians who then escalated the issue to the system administrators, who then had a look at the issue and had it resolved within a short space of time.
I got an email from this mysterious twitter user telling me about all this and he also informed me that my site was back up! Brilliant!
On top of that, I got an email from my host saying that they will refund me for all the trouble I've gone through!! Excellent!
What a happy ending! The power of twitter!!
