Police in Australia have released an X-ray photograph showing the 35 nails that were shot into a man’s skull in a brutal murder last year.
The victim of the attack was Chen Liu, a 27-year-old Chinese immigrant on a student visa, whose tightly bound and badly decomposed body was found by children on a marsh in southern Sydney.
Liu was shot repeatedly with a gas-powered nail gun capable of firing nails more than three inches long. Homicide squad superintendent Geoff Beresford has told reporters that the picture has been shown to the public to try and help find the killer.
"In 36 years, I've never seen a murder of this nature using a nail gun. May I say it's a particularly brutal and vicious murder and hence the reason we are seeking information from the public."
Police have not found the gun used to kill Liu and no arrests have yet been made.
35 Nails?, you'd assume that it was pretty personal...
