New Touchscreen that can dynamically make physical buttons

This is genius!!

A company in American has created technology for touch screens that can make "lumps" appear on the screen when needed.
The main demonstrated purpose for this at the moment is keyboards. When needed, the keyboard will pop up, as usual, but it will also have "buttons" physically manifest themselves on the screen.

iOS6 - Apples new update

I seriously need a rant here!
So Apple released info on their new OS, which is to be released later this year. I recently read an article ( I refuse to link to it, so copy and paste this into your browser -http://www.bgr.com/2012/06/12/apple-ios-6-features-android-opinion-criticism/) detailing some of the "new" features in this release. I can't tell if the article is a piss take, or if its serious!!

Anyway, some of the main features being announced are ...

Introducing the Leap

Leap represents an entirely new way to interact with your computers. It's more accurate than a mouse, as reliable as a keyboard and more sensitive than a touchscreen. For the first time, you can control a computer in three dimensions with your natural hand and finger movements.

Apparently they are going for Linux first, then Windows and Mac OSX. Looks good. Better than the Kinect anyway!

Google Glass - augmented reality glasses

I saw an article on this today.

Google are currently working on augmented reality glasses that a person can wear, that allow for users to access maps, video calls, appointments and messages via the eyepiece. They look a bit like Geordie LaForge glasses, but a little cooler, and apparently they'll be coming in different styles.

I dunno exactly how they'll work, with regards to needing a constant high speed internet connection. I would imagine Google ...

Blackberry PlayBook

I thought I'd write a bit about these tablets since I was lucky enough to get one for free recently from RIM (the makers of BlackBerry devices).

For anyone that doesn't read my blog (which is everyone) you might have missed my post about RIM giving free PlayBook tablets to developers in an effort to get more apps published on App World (their app store). Since they're pretty much down the pecking order when it ...

Another HP TouchPad firesale

So, after the first one, its looking like there may be a second HP TouchPad Fire sale!!

With the first fire sale, they had to sell off all their devices. The problem was, they'd already committed to buying a lot of new part to build another batch. HP apparently tried to cancel this, but were contracted to buy them so they did.

So now they've another full batch of HP TouchPad tablets assembled, and ready ...
