Mac vs PC

Ok so regardless of these ads what do you think is better.

Had this discussion a number of time with a friend and to be honest I cannot understand the the point of paying €1000 extra for a mac that doesnt play the games or run the programs that are so readily availbe for a PC.

MACs look cool and have some nice features but PC's are just so damn cheap.

I was thinking of getting a cheap MACBook to see what there like but then it turned out you can't so screw that.

ye i mean windows has the monopoly so games makers and software designers are providing products to their customers. as most of their customers have PCs, they make software for PC only. their unix/mac customer base would be little or non-existent.

if more people used macs and/or linux, then ya'd see an increase in software and games made for them.

apple have tried bringing macs into more mainstream with the introduction of intel powered macs, instad of the PowerPC macs of old. by doing this, a lot more software that was designed and compiled for intel/ibm compatible machines will now work on macs, hence more available software and games.

I use a new MacBook. There great, its the next generation, stop all this talk about not getting software ya babies, ALL NEW MACS CAN NOW RUN WINDOWS!! Its called Bootcamp. Link to have a look;

http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/bootcamp.html

I power on my macbook and i can choose to run MacOSX or Windows Partitions, All windows based softwear and games now work on my mac.

So for god sake get a mac! there cool looking, they kick windows based computers up the ass in EVERY WAY and now, they even run Windows (And whats more, THEY DON'T CRASH! Not even using windows, i must say it was weird to use windows that didn't shut down every few hours! ;) )

Last but not least, they don't or CAN'T get viruses!

I think enough said... save up and get a mac, stop being a naziboy lesbian!!!

DEATH TO WINDOWS!!!!! ;)

lol :lol:

First of all, since they introduced the new Intel architecture, instead of the PowerPC they were using traditionally, that did allow new Macs to run Windows. Because they run Windows, that means they CAN get viruses!

Bootcamp is nothing new. PCs have had dual boot for ages, in fact, this laptop has dual boot with windows and ubuntu linux, and thats all bootcamp is, a fancy name for dual boot. Admittedly, it has a wizard and looks fancier, but the underlying idea is the same.

As both now run Windows, u just need to think about which one is faster and has the most RAM. I know the G4 was only like 887Mhz, then the G5 must be about 1.xx Ghz, so the new CPU should be in the 2Ghz range. For that speed and price, they just dont seem worth it, unless of course ur totally shallow and care what ur laptop looks like!! :lol: :lol:

ye they do look cool. i'll let ya away with that. but still tho, apple had to convert to intel out of necessity. that says something! i'd love for them to be successful and put in a real challenge to widnows, but it wont be for a while. at least this may help them a bit.
