do u mean LCD vs Plasma? coz LED is way too new and not as developed/tested as LCD.

Man there are adds everywhere for LED TV on TV now, so they must be good, hence why i asked.. have you ever seen any? they say in the add "the next step in picture technology" i thinking, hello, what the hell happened to hd lcd stuff EVERYONE now owns... are they going out?? im confuuuuuuused

ah ok, ur talkin about LED lit LCD screens. LCD screens usually have like a bulb in the back to light up the screen so u can actually see the picture. them bulbs are big so take up space. so what they did was replaced that bulb wit LEDs in the outer casing of the screen to send the light inwards.
coz they replaced the bulb they can now make them skinnier. but they're still LCD screens, just lit with LEDs instead of the fluorescent lamps.
upside of them is that they're skinnier and use less electricity, and have no poisonous gases like they have in the bulbs. so that makes it more environmentally friendly.

picture wise, they;re the same.
