I've had nothing to watch the last 3 months, and now I have about 20 matches every Saturday and about 5 on sunday! Then theres the Champions league matches during the week!! Bliss!
As I'm in Australia I have to stay up late, but thats OK. I also dont have Foxtel so I have to get free streams off the internet, which are actually pretty good quality. I actually got a HiDef one last night!! OOOh!!
So, whos in the top 4 this season? Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are ur standard top 4 traditionally, and I dont think thats gonna change, however, we have the wild card that is Manchester City! They've been bought over by some rich oil baron or sheik or something, so they have lotsa money. They've been buying players left right and centre, a bit like chelsea did a few years ago when Roman Abramovich took over. They went from mid-table to table toppers in 1 season pretty much so Man City are expected to do similar, although, the players at Chelsea are probably better than City at the moment. City do have a good base of players though, Shay Given in goal, Richard Dunne, micah richards in defence, with jolian lescott on his way, Adebayor, tevez, robinho in front. The only down side is their midfield, which is where chelsea excel! While city have Stephen Ireland, one of the best young midfielders in the league, they just dont have the depth like chelsea.
But where are man utd in all this? They sold Cristiano ronaldo, who single handedly won them the premiership 2 seasons ago, and heavily contributed last season! Who did they buy in to replace him? Some bloke from Wigan! Although, he does look very good in his first 3 games, I have to admit. Still though, Fergie needs to buy a big name in January, with Giggs and Scholes probably in their last seasons United havent really got an big names anymore. A few injuries and United are a much weaker team! Also, Michael Owen now plays for United, in case you missed that. Hes very injury prone. Hes 29 though and still has a few years in him. As a natural goal scorer, with the service he'll be receiving at United, he should bag a few goals. He got some in pre-season and opened his account in the 3rd game of the season again Wigan, where United won 5-0. Wayne Rooney is also looking very sharp, from what I've seen, which is promising.
Arsenal are still their same old selves, without Adebayor though, and should do fairly well with Fabregas, van Persie, Gallas and the rest. They're not expected to win, just finish top 4. Same with Liverpool. While they're a good team, they'd still be underdogs against Chelsea or Man Utd.
So Chelsea are favourites this year. Do you think they can pull it off? Or will United grab the title again?
