christmas present suggestions

Postby amsroks » Sun Nov 27, 2011 10:42 pm

So annoyed I was planning on getting my dad The Guard dvd as one of his Christmas presents but it isn't being released till Jan??
Any suggestions on what I should get instead? (preferably something that could be bought online...shopping in town is a nightmare at the weekends!!!)

"The Guard" is OK. Not as good as "In Bruges" though. Get him that on bluray. OR if he doesn't own a bluray player then get him one.

If he's into those BBC Documentary's actually, then get Planet Earth Special Edition. Frozen Planet is another good one. Basically any of those BBC docu's are class on bluray.

OR, if he doesnt even have a flat screen, you could get him one, since you're rich now in ur new actuary job!!! ;)

Yeah I've been watching Flozen Planet , it's unreal!! My housemate thinks i'm strange for liking nature programmes, but then again she hasn't watched it so of course she doesn't understand!
I actually was planning on getting them a flatscreen but I've already gotten my mom a Calvin Klein bag and I don't have a car at the moment so even if I got a tv how on earth would I get it home?!
and I'm far from loaded...I won't be qualified for another 2 years...maybe longer :(

I'd hate to be an Actuary! It takes so long to get qualified in, and even after all them years training, I still wouldnt know what the hell they do!!!

I get a lot of annoying questions for example the most common are:
1. "Are actuaries like the same as accountants?"
2. "What is an Actuary?" Ramble on for a few minutes explaining what I do, then they usually ask question 1 if they haven't already done so
3. "So what should I invest in??" I hear Greek holiday homes are rising in popularity.....
4. "How much would it cost me to take out a million life cover until I retire?"

lol I'm sure they're probably hilarious question to you, much in the same way as computer questions are funny to me, but I actually thought an actuary was something to do with airplanes...
