Nah I dont think you'd need the pubs permission. But not 100% sure on that to be honest.

There might be different legal issues depending on whether or not you're selling the app. If you were to include deals in the app then obviously the pub would need to know about it. Do you use FourSquare? They do some deals, like for example my local gives a free cocktail to the "mayor" every Friday night!

What does what do? Foursquare? Its basically the Facebook check in. I think Facebook uses the FourSquare system to get all those check-ins actually.

But anyway, FourSquare keeps track of where u check in and u get badges and achievements like "First educational check in" for the first time u check in at college. Same for a stadium or museum. IF u check in enough times, then u become the mayor of that place and get discounts and special offers.

The best way to describe it is FourSquare is to Facebook check in, as Twitter is to Facebook status.

Survived the pub crawl...barely! I've a massive bruise on my arm
and that place you said was closed is just renamed, called the grand social now....

I did some of a 12 pubs there last night. Went to a cupla places on that list. Must try update it.

Hopefully I'm gonna be able to write an app that uses it. I think it'll be my first iPhone app, coz you make more money on iTunes than the Android market, so it makes sense!
