The one I have is decent enough. Its a Western Digital 1TB passport drive. Though its a bit iffy at the moment coz i've dropped it a ton of times, so the cable is a bit loose!!! :p

Other than that, its grand!

I reckon Jervis centre might be OK, like in Dixons or PC World. They might just be a bit more expensive. Just take note of whether its self powered, or ya need a plug. The big ones usually need a plug, so arent that portable. Mine fits in me pocket! I used to have a big metal yoke that was an absolute pain to carry around! really heave, and had the separate plug. I ended up giving it to me brother!

theres also these Seagate ones:

I've used the 2nd one in work and it was good.

Do you want to be able to bring it to your friends houses, or will it purely just be for your house/bedroom? The self powered ones are more expensive, so if you werent gonna be bringing it everywhere with you, then it'll be cheaper to get a big one, like the Western Digital MyBook.

Also, you can get wireless ones now, that you can connect to from anywhere in your house, and watch films on over the network! Handy for people who have an XBOX or PS3. Prices range online from €200, down to about €50.
See here or here or here.

You'll prob pay more for them in the shops though, than online.

i got mine off me GF for xmas or birthday or something. But that was in Australia anyway!

Dunno of any places up the northside, but most electronic shops are either in the city centre, or theres one on Parnell St i think, called Peats. They should have some.

The big ones are grand for carrying every once in a while, but I was doing a lot of travelling so just had to get rid of it. It was taking up a lot of valuable suitcase space, and weight allowance!
But if ur only gonna be bringing it every once in a while, a big one might be the way to go. I spose it'll really only be the wires that'll annoy you.

So your choice,
get a big one with lots of storage space, with hassle to carry, for around €100
get a small one with a good bit of storage space, no hassle to carry, and more expensive. maybe €150, or €200 for a high capacity one.
